    An Inspiring Read

Mr. Buechner puts a human face on Jesus in this mesmerizing book. From birth to resurrection, The Faces of Jesus gives us a possible account on how Jesus lived his life from a human perspective. Mr. Buechner also delves into the complexity of his life with his mother, the disciples and those he encountered. This book was so inspiring I read it twice.

Buechner At his Best & Simplest!

Fredrick Buechner paints his creative images upon the simple outline of Jesus' Life: The Annunciation, Nativity, Ministry, The Last Supper, Crucifixion, shortest Resurrection. In my perception this is F.B.'s early best, and simplest writing from 1974. For me his powerful attractions are Ancient Archives' copies from the four treasures of Turin, Sta Maria Castello L'dine, Coptic and older one, all from the Dagli Orti...Pictures of Faces of Jesus! For me these appear to be focused in significant ways for his simple Outline! Buechner has the neat, uncanny tactics to quote from the Gospels, always in the KJV, the history of the Pharisees, the Messiah as names and historic meaning the piety of early Disciples. These appear within his best, longer Chapter of The Ministry! 'With the jerky haste of an old newsreel, Jesus flickers across the light-sruck Galilean landscape.' Using Jesus' parables, healing stories and Beatitudes, F. B. writes with clarity, compassion and interest upon those central images and places of Jesus Ministry! Our faces may well shine within the reading and understanding of this exquisite and lovely Epistle of Fredrick Buechner. Hooray from Retired Chap Fred W Hood
