Overview

Enter a hidden world of magic, mystery, danger and romance in this YA fantasy from Amazon bestselling author, Rachel Morgan...

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day's work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone-she's about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is, until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamour follows her into the fae realm. Now she's broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he's discovered of the fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot-and it'll take all her training to get out alive.

Wow! There are few books that I would recommend with such enthusiasm (almost to the point of harassment ;) ) as I would this one. The Faerie Guardian by Rachel Morgan had me completely enchanted and I couldn't wait to read the next chapter!

Rachel Morgan has created a world filled with magic, love and betrayal, monsters and faeries, humans and halflings, along with plenty of adventure to captivate any audience. Her characters are very well thought out and relatable. Her main character, Violet, is a 17 year old Faerie Guardian trainee. She must overcome many trials, both physical and emotional, to get to where she wants to be in life.

I love that this book has love and romance in it, but that the romance isn't what the whole book is based upon. This book is full of plot twists and unexpected turns that will keep you turning pages to find out what happens next.

Overall, this book is fabulous! I will highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading, no matter what genre they prefer, because this could cover many

It has been three days since I started this book, and in those three days I have read two thirds of this trilogy. I was so ensnared by the story that when I finished this first book I waited all of five minutes before buying the second one. After I finished the second one it took a good half hour of arguing with myself (and one Facebook post) about not having the time to continue with this story right now before I bought the third book. Which I have already started and am now exerting vast amounts of willpower to write this review instead of reading.
I guess you could say I am enjoying the story.
It would be more accurate to say that I am completely consumed by this story. It has magic, action, adventure, intrigue, friendship, and romance - everything I could ever want in a book.
The protagonist, Violet, is a teenaged fairie in her final term of training to be a guardian, which is a sort of fae version of the FBI. While on a trainee assignment in the human realm she gets unwittingly involved in a multi-leveled political plot that is decades in the making. There is spying and spies, combat and battles, recon missions and rescue missions, all while Violet is living the life of the teenager that she is with school, boys, and a home life.
The Fairie Guardian - and the other two in the same series - is very well written. Violet is extremely likable and while I cannot see myself in her, she is the kind of person I wished to be while in high school. She is a fierce fighter, incredibly intelligent, and completely disregards the shallowness of the school social scene.
Explaining the many differences between the fae realm and our own human realm could be a daunting task for an author but Rachel Morgan handles this task with admirable skill. Even explaining Violet’s home life, her lack of parents, her unidentified pet, and all of the little things that are unique to fae life are done without obvious explanation to the reader. It is this cleverness in writing, along with the personable characters and an intriguing storyline that have me raving so much about this book.
I generally steer clear of YA books because they can be silly and simple, but other than the age of the main characters and the lack of explicit sex, I wouldn’t pigeonhole The Fairie Guardian in the YA section. It could easily hold its own in the fantasy and paranormal sections.

    Fae world intrigue

I'm a sucker for books set in a realm such as this. Add in a cheesy YA romance and a BA female lead and I'm hooked. Couldn't stop reading, can't wait to start Creepy Hollow #2.

This series is soooo good!   I read them all faster than any other series I have read, simply because I could not put them down!
These books are a steal too, I would easily spend $10.00/book for the books in this series!  They are wonderful!  I am sad I have now read them all because I know whatever I read next  won't be as good!

    A promising beginning...

But it fell apart for me as soon as Nate and Violet are captured. First, they never question how their captors knew that Nate was in Creepy Hollow. Second, they sit there dialoging instead of trying to escape. While the story is richly inventive, the syllogistic progression is terribly flawed. I don't think I'll have the patience to continue reading.

I LOVE an excellent book that I can't put down until the end, and this was one of those books! I love the ongoing
and continually developing story line, because it just made the suspense grow thicker, plus, throwing in all those
plot twists, red herrings and the "oohhhhhhh noooooo!" moments that makes you wish the book would NEVER end!
That was the problem! The story ended and I'm like "NOOOooo! I want to keep reading! (this was at 2:00 in the
morning, mind you) Thankfully there are two more books in the series so I can keep getting my fix of Vi, Ryn, and the rest of the Creepy Hollow residents!
Unfortunately, I couldn't start "The Faerie Prince" until today, but I went ahead and bought the last two books of the
series, because I KNOW for a fact, I won't be disappointed! Thank you, Rachel Morgan, for such great reads, and at such a excellent (bargain) cost!

    Two stars

Plot was ok, but a bit too high-schoolish for me. Felt author also went overboard on details in the plethora of fight scenes.

Nice read, I want to read more.

Interesting take on the subject. Good readability.
But I kept wondering as I read, does Rachel Morgan have anything to do with Kim Harrison? Is that the author's real name? Since Rachel Morgan is the character in KH's Hollows series.

    Enchanting Book

I'm an avid fantasy/teen novel series reader and I must say that this is one of the best I've come along! The author was very thoughtful in her characters. They simply come alive off the pages! The plot line is built well and has a lot of twists and turns. I'm very much looking forward to reading the next two.

Amazing story! I couldn't stop until I read the entire series :) This is a must read for all fans of fantasy! I must say I am quite surprised at how much I enjoyed since I do not normally read books about faeries. Two thumbs up to the Author!

    LOVE

This book has it ALL: witty banter, depth of character, intrigue, decent plot, and to top it all off it was free. I think I may have found a new favorite author. I cannot wait to read the next two books!

Can't see it to read it

What happened to the font??? I read the sample a little while ago and it looked fine. Now, it's set so tiny you can barely even see the words. Please, someone fix this soon, so I can finish reading the book! How can I rate the book if I can't read the words?

A great tale of romance, daring and betrayal

As a person of many books I can gladly state that this is by far one of the best books I have ever read. Violet (also known as Pixie Sticks) is introduced as a fearless, obedient, kick-ass trainee. From the time her only friends along with her parents abandoned her by death, she was alone and obsessed with training. That is until one of her "assignments" is able to see her. A dark secret, a quest, a date, an enemy and a ball...what other surprises are there in store for Violet?

    Guardian Faiere Series

As a mature, age wise, though not spirit wise reader, I want to applaud Rachel Morgan for an outstanding romp in her world of the fae. Loved all three books. I am guilty in that I devoured all in as many days because I needed to know what was happening next. I guess I have as much patience as Violet when I want to know something. Well worth my lack of sleep.
