Overview

Ancient prophecy speaks of four dark princes, the sons of the dark mother, who will rise up with a nation of old vamps to stop the rogue factions from ruling over mankind. Justice is the first in that prophecy, from the ancient Jaguar People. He is the Prince of Fire.

In Volume 1 of 4 of Season 1, of this dark urban novella, Jes grew up that fateful day, eight years before, when her father had told her to stay in the car. Having her father's love for investigating, she'd gotten out of the car for just one peek--and what she'd seen that day had changed the course of her life. Jes had always known about the ancient races. After all, she'd been born Jaguar. The Jaguar People were one of the many ancient races who had the sworn duty to safeguard Mother Earth--even if, sometimes, that meant protecting her from the humans themselves Yet because the People were her guardians--there to preserve the Mother--nothing had prepared Jes for that day, as a child, when she'd seen what happened when one of her People went rogue. They were there to look after the Mother--and that included the humans. They were not there to hunt--and take lives. That day put Jes on his path, and she did everything in her power to put herself in the position to bring him down. Yet, in doing so, even Jes isn't prepared to face the prophecy. Though she knows the prophecy foretells of four princes, the sons of the dark mother, who rise up with a nation of old vamps to stop the rogue factions from ruling over mankind--she is in no way prepared for the man who challenges everything she's believes--to face her own destiny.

In the hidden realms of this world lies a secret that could destroy the human race… Jess refuses to give up her search for the boy she once loved, who destroyed her dreams and betrayed the Jaguar People when he killed one fateful day seven years before. It's a hunt that brings her face-to-face with the secrets of her past…and brings her back to the Alliance and the hidden palace that holds her people. Mira has come with her lovers Micah, and Lucius, to find her missing sister. What she finds sets her on a whole new path as one of the Sisters of Three. Constantine has deliberately caused the change to come over their sister. She must now live with Dracon to learn to deal with her hunger. The Jaguar people work with an ancient race of Vampires to protect races on Mother Earth from the rogue factions of vampires and the same brutal enemy, Constantine, who has been threatening all of their Peoples. Justice is the first prince of the Sons of the Dark Mother, the Prince of Fire, destined to help their people. Being of the Jaguar People herself, it's also a chance for Jess to learn more about her lost heritage, and she discovers secrets about her own destiny from the Jaguar Witch, Mira, about the Sisters of Three. But Jess is forced to face the truth when she comes face-to-face with Justice when she interferes with the mission, and as their undeniable attraction heats up, she finds out a truth that puts them on a whole new level. As they delve deeper into hidden worlds of their realms, they begin to unravel a long-hidden secret from their missing parents. The dark truth about her own beloved people is about to come to light, and it'll change their fates forever…and threaten everyone they love.

This book is written mostly as a narrative with very little actual conversations between characters. The style of the story reads like a 1950 film noir flick. Also the book doesnt end so it continues in book 2, so this is not a stand alone novel...& most likely part 2 wont be free. Not my cup of tea.

It was hard to get into this book as the beginning was all over the place although it did get better I won't get the next one unless its free.

The author continued to state the same points over and over as if the reader would forget the points of mystery that were still not clear. It felt like the story was only written in order to sell a series. It was a relatively useless read about shape-shifting humans.

3.5 stars worth reading (slightly) Total Pages: 165; Story Pages: 150; free e-book Jaguar shifters. Was an okay read, but it was a little dry. Just not interesting enough for me to read the next one in the series.
