Overview

Bemidji, Minnesota, native Brian Miller teams up with Randy Gosa of Wales, Wisconsin, to perform the Irish-influenced music once common in lumber camp bunkhouses throughout the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada. A follow-up to Miller’s album Minnesota Lumberjack Songs, this CD includes songs and dance tunes from North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ontario. Miller and Gosa accompany many of the songs with guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonium, and tenor banjo. Included is a booklet with notes and historical photos.

About the Author

Brian Miller lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, and performs with the Two Tap Trio, the Máirtín de Cógáin Project, and Bua. He is a two-time recipient of an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This CD was made possible, in part, through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Randy Gosa has been playing Irish music since 1999 and studied music at the University of Limerick. He performs nationally with his band Myserk and also teaches at the Milwaukee Irish Fest School of Music.
