All Music Guide - Andy Hinds
Default's debut album, The Fallout, sounds like a souvenir of the mid-'90s. Much like the second-generation grunge bands of that era -- Silverchair, Seven Mary Three, and Bush, to name a few -- this Canadian quartet sports a thick, buzzy guitar sound courtesy of producer Rick Parashar of Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains fame and a frontman whose mannered singing is equal parts Eddie Vedder, Maynard Keenan, and Layne Staley. With any lingering whiffs of danger or subversiveness that may be associated with those mentors airbrushed out of the picture, The Fallout provides a non-threatening option for those who seek the stylistic affectations of grunge rock, but wish to avoid all ...

Default plays competently and the music sounds fine, but they simply have little to offer in the way of originality, which can also be said of a band like Creed, who nevertheless has millions of fans.

    Awesome!

I love Default! I was fortunate to get to see them live at a recorded performance done at a radio station several years ago and loved their music from then on! I listen to it as I'm working out and it helps keep me moving. I also introduced this cd to my 6 and 3 yr. old little Boys and they rocked out to it with me. I only wish I had been able to see them live in concert. So glad to find out they produced more cd's. Good, Good Music! I recommend it highly!

This is an awesome cd! I've practically worn it out listening to it so much. My favorites are Sick and Tired, Deny, and Let You Down.

Can't go wrong with this CD!

This is a great CD I highly recommend it. I am very open to a lot of different kinds of Music, rock being one of my favorites. Default mixes a little nickleback with a little Creed and it comes out really well. BUY IT!

    What falls must come up!!

Default is a great band. They surely knew how to start off their career with an album like the fallout. They have catchy lyrics with awesome guitar riffs!

I really like Default, they have good music and catchy lyrics. I especially like ''Deny'', and their lyrics are really written well.

    Awesome debut

I'm fed up with these so-called 'music critics' saying how groups such as Creed, Stained, Nickleback, Days of the New etc sound the same. So what I say? The music is still good, the lyrics are well written and the albumns of these bands sell around the world. True that Default sound similar in style to Creed and even Puddle of Mud but the songs are distinct and they are all fantastic.

    These guys are incredible!

This is a CD which will never leave my CD player, ever. The lyrics cover a wide range of emotions, which I can always find solace in, no matter what mood I am in. I am just a lttle disappointed at the length, 37 minutes is a little disapointing, I want more!!!!!!!

    Totally Great

Even though most people dis punk-rock and listen to pop, who cares. Default is a great group and there lyrics are incredibal. I especial like the song faded. All there stuff is great, and none of it disapoints me.
