All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
The deluxe edition of Lady Gaga's The Fame was issued as a two-CD set titled The Fame Monster. It included both the full-length album and an eight-song EP which was also released separately. The new material acts as a nice bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on the Fame Monster EP bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro" as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the wonderful, perverse march "Teeth." Even the stuttering splices on "Telephone," a duet with Beyoncé, leans to the other side of the Atlantic, which just emphasizes the otherness that's become Gaga's calling card. And even as she's becoming omnipresent, with her songs mingling with those who co-opt her on the radio, she is still slightly skewed, willing to go so far over the top that she goes beyond camp, yet still channeling it through songs that are written, not just hooks. The Fame Monster builds upon those strengths exhibited on The Fame, offering a credible expansion of the debut and suggesting that she's not just a fleeting pop phenomenon.

Going Gaga. This CD is Refreshingly Good!

I have always loved the music of a soulful female recording artist. I love the music of Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Helen Reddy and Carly Simon. Now, we have another great, yet very different kind of performer. Lady Gaga is the modern day Madonna. However, I still place Madonna ahead of today's latest talent, including Lady Gaga. I appreciate the return of good dance tunes. I am so over rap, hip-hop and other often "foul music" and so called dance moves. Nothing offensive here. Lady "G" is hip, young and refreshing! It is especially fun traveling with my convertible top down and L.G. blasting away on the car stereo. What great club music, too. If you love to dance, this CD is for you. The deluxe edition is worth the extra money by a long shot. Do not settle. Go for it!

    Infectious Dance Tracks

There is no doubt these are perhaps some of the best electro-pop dance tracks since Donna Summer. The real question I have is does she have any talent? The vocals are so highly mixed and overdubbed, it is impossible to tell if there is any vocal integrity to this pop icon. But I guess vocal ability is not necessary, just look/listen to Madonna. At least GaGa does not seem to pretend she has any vocal ability. This album does have infectous dance tracks, you can not sit still and for this reason, both CD's are worth it. Besides, who doesn't love Poker Face and Bad Romance.

The one thing I really do admire about her....I love it when Italian Catholic school girls go bad...it is a wonderful commenatry on the Catholic Church.

    Can't get enough of it

I bought this cd for a few select songs and was pleasantly surprise to find that I love all but one track. I had only heard the songs being played on the radio but found that I like many of the other songs even more than the one I knew.

    Great Gaga!

I'm glad I didn't buy her first cd. It's included in the double. What a bargain!! If you like ANY of her songs, you will enjoy this double cd! Her music is brilliant. You just want to get up and dance immediately!

haven't owned an album this good in at least 10 years

I love this CD. I purchased multiples as gifts as everyone should own one. She is amazing, has an amazing voice and is very inspirational. The CD is chock full of great songs and it is rare for me to own a CD on which I like every single song. Great album. Lady Gaga! xoxo

    The epicness of Gaga

What can I say about Lady Gaga that has not already been said? She is an icon for women all around the world in terms of fashion, art, and of course music. She really brings it with her latest cd "fame Monster". Every song on the album is addicting and you will find yourself singing along with the lyrics almost instantly. Some of my favorite tracks are "Bad Romance", "Telephone" featuring Beyonce, "Monster" and "So Happy I Could Die". The ballad on the cd is "Speechless" which is very moving and really shows Lady Gaga's talent for singing. The only thing that could top this cd is seeing Lady Gaga live and in concert bringing every element of her music straight from the cd to the fans.

This album will keep you listening!

After hearing a few of Lady GaGa's songs on the radio, I decided to purchase this album and I was totally satisfied with my purchase! Not only do you get her CD, the Fame, but also a second CD with some new songs that will keep you listening and moving. My favs include "telephone", "so happy I could die", and "dance in the dark". This is a definite purchase for fans of GaGa. You will be satisfied with your purchase.

    Gaga-riffic

So... I know that Lady Gaga can be cloying. She is everywhere. You cannot really escape her. Is that bad or good? Who knows. Is LG crazy? Who knows. Is she entertaining? Absolutely.

I find myself impressed by her versatility. Listen to her music (whether you are a fan or not) and you will admit that she is unpredictable. Her voice sounds different track to track. Listen to Alejandro, Lovegame, and Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say). These are just a few examples of how different she can sound.

The girl can sing. I love some of her music and hate some of it. She has the ability to wow and befuddle, inspire and disgust.

Overall, the cd was worth buying... If you are a fan. And if you like to dance.

    AMAZING!

Before I bought Lady Gaga's CD, I liked her music. It was catchy. But after listening to this CD, I'm in love with her music and her voice. And now I'm a big fan of hers. The other songs featured on the CDs are all well-written and sung, and are different compared to what we hear in the mainstream radio. If you want talent, then you should definitely pick up this CD. I love ALL of her songs and for me, that's rare.

    Has all her songs

This double album has all her previous hits plus her new music as well. The first album has most of her hits to date except Bad Romance which is on her second. Great way to hear both the songs you know and future hits. A must if you like her music.
