Overview

She’d given up on love—until a handsome farmer surprises her with an unexpected proposal…

When her father becomes gravely ill, Laura Kemper sets aside her own dreams to nurse him, as a devoted daughter should. She buries her wants so deeply that not even she can see them. But an unexpected offer from a man too charming to resist unearths those dreams… and she might not be able to bury them again.

Marcus Gries fell for Laura the first moment he saw her. He’s been waiting for the perfect opportunity to win her heart ever since. And when he learns of Laura’s circumstances, he’s even more determined to wed her and make all her dreams come true—if only she would let him.

A pretty clean enjoyable book. It reminded me of how sweet early love was and a desire to find it again

I truly enjoyed this book. It has a old romantic feeling to it. Its ups and downs are worth not putting the book down.

Wonderful characters in a lovely story set in 1897 Jancinto Mountains gave me a delightful afternoon reading experience. I felt for Marcus and his determination to overcome bashfulness to finally approach Laura at the dance then follow up in spite of so many miscommunications. Laura was duty bound to be there for her parents although she was also drawn inexorably to Marcus. This had all the elements of a sweet love story with the culmination in a wedding night that was tender sweet and loving, too.

This is a story about a good man who falls for a good woman. Its a story about courting, respect, and desire. What do you do when what you want conflicts with your duty to family. I am Buddhist and found their story honest and true. This one could match a classic!

Perfect for a sweet romance that is not too drawn out! Highly recommend and will look for more from this author. WARNING.....some sexual content.

Marcus and Laura's love story is very sweet. After two years, he has finally worked up enough courage to approach Laura. But, as feelings for Marcus begin to grow, Laura feels the weight of obligations to her family and pushes him away. The attraction is too strong to keep them apart. 113 pages

I usually do not write reviews, but I truly enjoyed the true love romance of these characters. It's the first book that I have read of this author and I can't wait to read more.

A lovely first book in the series. Great book, I really enjoyed it and have since downloaded the next in the series. Laura and Marcus have a very bumpy road if they ever want to reach their HEA. Family responsibilities mean Laura has lost all hope of a life and family of her own, so a husband is not even on her radar! However Marcus is done waiting, he needs a wife and only one person can possibly fill this position, he will do everything he needs to sweep Laura off her feet and win her heart. This is a sweet historical romance which was a lovely read, a good storyline, lots of emotion and of course the all important background characters who you instantly dislike!

If this book didn't have all the conversations and over analysis of situations this book would be done in 25 pages. What I'm saying is there's tremendous amount of filler material. There's nothing interesting, no fantastic events so she went for the .classic book seller-SEX. I don't have a problem with that, I don't necessarily think its trashy but its only an activity, may be an important part of life but not the entirety of it. Life still happens outside of the bedroom and this author didn't have the imagination to write aboutit. So the story goes The farmer's in the Dell the farmer takes a wife THE END
