The Author first got my attention with the “new to me” concept of intermittent fasting. Gaining the knowledge of the well researched information on the health benefits of incorporating 2 non-­consecutive days of intermittent fasting into the 5:2 diet was so enlightening. As I read so many positive effects it has physically, mentally, and emotionally on the body, the Author managed to entice me through every page wanting to learn more. With well executed, Monthly Menus utilizing the low-­calorie, mouth watering recipes, this book can only be a successful tool in the most controlled, yet effortless and most educational, without the boring regimen diet I have ever been this excited to start. If I couldnt fast or diet for some reason, my review rating would still remain a 5/5 just for the knowledge the Author has brought to the table...no pun intended. Happy eating! The Fast Diet Cookbook: Low-Calorie Fast Diet Recipes and Meal Plans for the 5:2 Diet and Intermittent Fasting is not actually about losing weight quickly but about the idea of fasting. The first half breaks down the concept very nicely by providing health benefits and providing statistical backup as to why this diet works. The second half breaks daily meal plans down to make everything easier and easy to follow.

This book will introduce to you a new form of fasting that you’d probably hit yourself over the head wondering why you haven’t thought of it! It’s a simple adjustment to your boring old routine of fasting with much more rapid results. The author also goes through the trouble of providing many low calorie recipes, and surprisingly for foods that I already tend to eat on a regular basis!

This Fast Diet cookbook is packed full of delicious recipes, and also does a great job of explaining the principles of the Fast Diet. I’ve been using it regularly and recommend it for those who have been doing the Fast Diet for a while or are just starting out.

Intermittent fasting is a weight-loss strategy avoid the usual dieting pitfalls: frustrated hunger and listlessness. By cutting calories once or twice a week, we can burn fat and gradually change our eating habits. The book offers menu plans and some tasty, simple recipes to sustain us on fast days. The recipes for “normal” days are less useful, and the scientific discussion that opens the book is a bit tentative, but overall this is a promising guide to sustainable weight loss.  KenMiller

The recipes in this book are so flavorful and satisfying you'll forget they are low-calorie. The great thing about the Fast Diet is that you don't have to feel as though you're sacrificing taste, even on fasting days. The Fast Diet  is based on the concept of two non-consecutive fasting days coupled with five days of sensible eating each week.  This makes dieting simple and, if you follow this plan, weight-loss is practically guaranteed.

The Fast Diet Cookbook suggests a new diet twist called “Intermittent fasting”. I admit I was not convinced (at first) to consider “intermittent fasting” as a possible diet option that would work for me. I was not convinced by language that was too vague about the science behind the fasting; too many phrases like “studies suggest” and “may indicate”. But I did like the suggestion that it “can improve your eating habits (by) changing the way you look at food”. I can see where it would help identify issues with my eating habits and maybe even be inspired to change the poor ones. For example, I love making Jiffy brand Blueberry muffins, but the book has a recipe for Lemon Blueberry Muffins that gets rid of the saturated fats and refined sugars that I don’t need.

This is a great cook book.  And then it also has a fantastic section about using the recipes to diet.  The recipes include vegan, seafood and meaty goodness.  Also, there are meals of 100 calories that still have bacon.  Somehow a diet can taste good.  There is a great section for referencing low-cal quick snacks.  I’m tired of always being hungry when I’m trying to lose weight; this book will definitely help.

Most people cringe at the thought of fasting but this book gives new meaning to the word as well as make the practice a lot more manageable. As long as you follow the book’s advice and listen to your body above else, this may be prove to be a very beneficial investment. In addition, it comes with loads of delicious recipes to try that are very simple to make.

A good introduction to the 5:2 diet. The ideas supporting the diet are easy to grasp and impartial. Meal plans are presented in easy to follow tables. There is an abundance of recipes - not only for fasting days, but for non-fasting days, too - ensuring you have healthy choices at every meal.

I loved this diet book. There’s lots of practical advice for dieting and for making sure you don’t fall into the usual “fad diet” pitfalls. The best part, though, was the wide variety of dishes. Usual fare like burgers and soups are complemented by international cuisine, and even some vegetarian and gluten-free options. I would recommend this book to just about anyone.

The Fast Diet Cookbook offers the dieter information on weight loss, recipes and a comprehensive plan for reducing weight. Intermittent fasting is explained using researched evidence and the reasons this plan works are also discussed. 500 calories each day on the two fasting days per week are allowed. The recipes are incorporated into the meal plans. Though the recipes are easy, all of the meals need to be prepared at home. This is a great guide for healthy eating and losing weight.
