Mythology, god and goddess, witch and wizard, and a cat with a heart of gold THE FAT CAT by Edie Ramer runs 27 pages without front or end matter included....and it's fun, charming, entwined with suspense and the paranormal twists one would expect from a cast of characters like this. I particularly liked the character the aging, arthritic cat played-- and his ability to communicate in full sentences telepathically with our heroine. It was my first Edie Ramer read...and I liked it well enough to explore another. ~kristin

Loved the story short and entertaining wish it was longer.

The story didn't explain things up front before you had the male witch come out of no where. Would have been better with a story line up front.

The Fat Cat by Edie Ramer A Cattitude Short Story Tory Brannigan is single again after her boyfriend didn’t like that she was making a career choice. So, what better way to replace a guy then with a kitten? At the shelter an overweight and quite elderly black cat seemed to talk to her, pleading for her to choose him. In the end, she took Samson home. Four months later she has fallen for the old cat. Now if she could just work magic to make him young so she can keep him longer. A short story with some great twists. **Language

Ramer's short story (about thirty-five pages) stars one human witch and one very fat, very hungry kitty. Tory and Samson make a great pair; their personalities and magic mesh well. Plus, this is one of those rare paranormal stories which features a witch who actually honors the Goddess Diana. Recommended to fans of Mercedes Lackey, Devon Monk, and Diane Duane. -- lyradora
