About the Author

Andrea Scida and Taylor Thomas are speech pathologists specializing in feeding/swallowing therapy for over 35 years, combined. In January 2019, they opened The Pediatric Feeding Institute of South Florida, the only private practice in South Florida and surrounding areas dedicated to the treatment of pediatric feeding disorders. Since opening the clinic and launching the only Intensive 8-week Feeding Program in South Florida, Andrea and Taylor have facilitated functional feeding skills in an overwhelming number of children from the local South Florida area, as well as throughout the state, in other areas, and in other countries. Their work brings long-lasting positive changes to family’s lives, including weaning feeding tube dependence, improving oral motor skills, and increasing tolerance of the sensory properties of food. Their second business-- Teach Me to Eat-- was developed to help educate families and therapists through fun feeding therapy tools, parent education books, and mealtime activities.
