Overview

“The whole thing was basically an experiment,” Richard Feynman said late in his career, looking back on the origins of his lectures. The experiment turned out to be hugely successful, spawning publications that have remained definitive and introductory to physics for decades. Ranging from the basic principles of Newtonian physics through such formidable theories as general relativity and quantum mechanics, Feynman’s lectures stand as a monument of clear exposition and deep insight.

Timeless and collectible, the lectures are essential reading, not just for students of physics but for anyone seeking an introduction to the field from the inimitable Feynman.

The same as the big red books, only corrected!

If you are nervous to buy this book because it has few reviews (like I was), don't be. This has all the contents of the big red books that cost twice as much, only this is soft cover and has over 800 errata corrected. They publishers waited to correct all these errata because they were printing copies of the book from pictures of the pages taken in the 1960s, and correcting one error on one page took a lot of time and money. However, they digitalized these books (you can seen B&N is selling the e-books), and when they digitalized the books they corrected all the errata reported to them. This is the paper copy of the digitalized version. So, bottom line, this is merely a soft cover, cleaned up version of the more-expensive red books.
