    Kind of disappointed

I really enjoyed the first two books of this trilogy. They can definitely be read as stand-alone novels and this third one tied to the second novel, but not so much to the first. One of the characters from the first novel was re-introduced, but I thought he could have been left out and the story would not have suffered at all.

It *did* suffer, however, from its disjointed, rambling story line. The credit/acknowledgements did state that an editor worked on this book, but honestly, you can't really tell. As I said in my review for "When Graveyards Yawn", the first book of the trilogy, "wretch" and "retch" do NOT mean the same thing. They are two entirely different words with different meanings. That is just one of the many irritants of this "edited" book.

I've read long (long) books that benifitted from their length in regard to character development, which helped to drive the plot. The length of this book was not spent on character development, nor did it seem to be spent on plot development. I was disappointed in this novel, since I enjoyed the first two of the trilogy so much.

I do intened to read other books by Taylor with the hope that this was a fluke and that the others will satisfy that hunger for Taylor's witty, weird story telling.
