The Final Word
Author Jim Edwards is well-grounded in the Christian faith, a gift facilitated by his grandparents beginning early in his life. In The Final Word, he shares his experiences and ideas about the Christian faith, using personal anecdotes and third-party stories to illustrate how God works in the lives of the faithful. He explores some of the obligations and responsibilities of Christians and illustrates how to find comfort and guidance in the Bible. Edwards offers a rational approach to develop a thought-based comprehension of who God is, who we are, why we are here, and where we go when we leave earth. The Final Word challenges Christians to think about their relationship with God using unique and interesting simulated dialogues between the author, God, and a friend. These scenarios draw a clearer understanding of the word of God and show that God has the final word on the whereabouts of mankind in eternity. Featuring a simulated interview with God, The Final Word explores an array of mysteries such as the Tree of Life and Gods Mathematical Laws.

About the Author

Most importantly, the author is a member of the church that Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 that he would build. The Lord first added a large number to the church of Christ in the second chapter of the Book of Acts. Jim followed that group much later in becoming known as a Christian in the same manner as those in Antioch who were the first to be called Christians. He has served as a deacon and as an elder in local congregations; and as a volunteer minister to university students and soldiers in basic training. Currently, Jim is focused on writing simulations portraying conversational-style dialog among those providing insights to issues most important to his life. While his top priority is God, he has other interests. Of lesser importance, Jim is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Accounting in the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. He holds B.B.A., M.B.A. and Ph.D. degrees earned at the University of Georgia. His professional certificates include: Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Certified Cost Analyst (CCA), Certified Computer Professional (CCP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Jim has published more than 100 articles in professional publications; receiving eight national awards for his writings. He is the author or co-author of three books and served as assistant editor of Managerial Planning magazine for five years. In 1986 he conducted a special study for the National Commission on Fraudulent Financial Reporting, “Expansion of Non-Audit Services and Auditor Independence.” He is a contributing author to Evaluating the Performance of International Operations, published in 1989 by Business International. He is the past editor of Emerging Practices in Cost Management, the Handbook of Cost Management, and the Handbook of Cost Management for Service Industries; all are annual publications by Warren, Gorham&Lamont, Inc. He is the editor of the Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance. Jim serves as a part-time business advisor specializing in small group and individual “strategic chats” or “strategic thinking retreats” and teleconferencing. He is an international business researcher, author, business architect, business advisor, and management development mentor. He, also, serves the legal profession in a “shadow” support role to attorneys as an evaluator of reports prepared by expert witnesses in financial litigation cases. Past societal listings (1980s–1990s) include: Marquis WHO’S WHO IN THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST Marquis WHO’S WHO IN FINANCE AND INDUSTRY Marquis WHO’S WHO IN AMERICA (re-nominated in 2016) Marquis WHO’S WHO IN THE WORLD Work experience includes corporate controller, partner in a CPA firm, vice-president of a data processing company, university professor, and consulting engagements. Jim served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Program.
