Now is your chance to read his best-loved works, The Book of Wonder, A Dreamer's Tales, Fifty-One Tales, The Gods of Pegana, and the Sword of Welleran and Other Stories. The Reader's Guide to Fantasy hails Lord Dunsany (1897-1957) for his "ornate, art-nouveau fantasy--of mythical worlds. His were the first set in wholly created mythical worlds and paved the way for Tolkeihn's Middle Earth. The Reader's Guide calls his work "of concise elegance--bejeweled with all the exotica of the East. "Typical are 'The Hoard of the Gibbelins," in which it is told how the Gibbelins, "who eat nothing less good than man," protect their hoard of wealth from an epitomal hero, and 'The Distressing Tale of Thangobrind the Jewller,' the hero of whom has an encounter with Hlo Hlo, the spider idol." I Also Recommend:

    Nothing wrong with the contents

Lord Dunsany is besides J.R.R.Tolkien the greatest writer of fantasy in English (sorry J.K. Rowling). The four books included in this omnibus are masterpieces. The problem is not with the stories themselves, without exception, they are among the best fantastic fiction ever committed to paper. The problem is with Renaissance E Books. There is no table of contents so readers cannot jump to a story. I guess you have to repeatedly page through the book to get to the story you want to read if you do not want read the stories in order. Less of a problem, but annoying nonetheless, is the cover. The artwork is terrible but even worse is the fact that its for the wrong book. The title says Lord Dunsany Omnibus volume II when in fact it is Volume I. You would think they could get at least this much right!
