T. E. Woods delivers a fast-paced thriller—the first in an electrifying new series—peopled with sharp, intriguing characters and more twists and turns than a corkscrew.
Never a doubt. Never a mistake. Always for justice. Never for revenge. She’s the person you hire when you need something fixed—permanently. With a strict set of criteria, she evaluates every request and chooses only a few. No more than one job per country, per year. She will only step in if it’s clear that justice will not be served any other way. Her jobs are completed with skill and precision, and never result in inquiry or police investigation. The Fixer is invisible—and quite deadly. . . .
In the office of a clinical psychologist in Olympia, Washington, a beautiful young woman is in terrible emotional pain. She puts up walls, tells lies, and seems to speak in riddles, but the doctor is determined to help her heal, despite the fact that she claims to have hurt many people. As their sessions escalate, the psychologist feels compelled to reach out to the police . . . but it might be too late.
In Seattle, a detective gets a call from his son. A dedicated journalist, he wants his father’s expertise as he looks into a suspicious death. Together they follow the trail of leads toward a stone-cold hired killer—only to find that death has been closer than either could have imagined.
Advance praise for The Fixer
“Hot and unpredictable, this debut hurls you down the curvy gray avenues of right and wrong at about a hundred and fifty miles per hour. Strap yourself in!”—Amanda Kyle Williams, author of The Stranger You Seek

“Pitch-perfect . . . solid characters, unpredictable twists and excellent plotting; a must-read for those who enjoy crime fiction.”Kirkus Reviews

When a vigilante killer-for-hire known as the Fixer ends up working for the wrong people it’s up to an oldschool cop and an intelligent psychologist to keep that from happening. I don’t want to go into too many details because there’d be a spoiler at every juncture but believe me when I say it’s fun to read how they each accomplish this. Once the plot gain it’s momentum, it was a breakneck ride that had you at the edge of your seat. Suddenly, I found myself submerged in a far more complicated story than I anticipated! The mystery had so many twists and turns it was hard to predict and even harder to put down. There were several moments that I thought I knew exactly what T.E. Woods was up to only to have that theory turned on its head. With T.E. Woods pulling some ‘Agatha Christie moves’ I think thriller/mystery fans will love “The Fixer”.

This was one of those books I purchased because it was 99 cents, so I thought what have I got to lose? Well, it definitely had some plots and twists, where you weren't sure who the bad guy was and the main characters definitely had some depth and character. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

I only read about a third of this book, but it involves animals being tortured, so I could not continue.

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings A female hitman who has nicknamed herself The Fixer and as you find out in the story she is out to redeem a horrible childhood that still scars her.  Unfortunately, her recent job has turned into a little more than her normal job and she is caught up in quite an affair! The first five chapters were short and each had cliff hangers and I was nervous that thing wouldn't connect - thank goodness they did!  Although the short chapters continued through the book, I wished that the chapters had more flow to them to allow for an easier read.

Always kept you guessing. I didn't care for the foul language.

Ok, I am still trying to figure out how we got to the end! This was a great, great book!! Usually I'm pretty good at guessing what will happen next, but just when I thought I had it all figured out, something else was introduced. This is definitely at the top of my reading list. This is the first book I have ever written a review on. So my hat's off to the author!! This is a true winner.

Man, I don't even know what to say.  My head is still kind of spinning from this book.  It just was so good. I had a very hard time putting this book down.  I love reading suspenseful books.  I was on NetGalley and requested this one for review, and when I was accepted I got super excited.  I just really, really liked this book. I don't even know how to explain what I love about this book without giving too much away.  The characters were fantastic.    I was grabbed from the very beginning.   There are so many characters in this book.  I had to keep writing down the names so I could remember who they were, and when it all comes together...boom...mind. blown.  It was great.   Dr. Lydia Corriger is a Psychologist who has a patient come in by the name of Savannah.  Savannah comes with problems, and walls already put up before really starting therapy.  Mort Grant is a homicide detective trying to solve some unexplained murders.  Robert, Mort's son is a journalist on the search for the next big story.  Little do they know they are closer to the story than either of them realize.    The way this unravels is absolutely fantastic.  The way the characters connect is awesome.  They writing was fabulous.  I was just so drawn into this book.  I kept thinking I had everything figured out, then BAM...something else happens and I am again...mind. blown.  I really just love how everything worked out in this book. The ending completely surprised me.  COMPLETELY.  I was not expecting such a fantastic ending.   The ONLY complaint I have about this book is that the f-bomb is dropped too much for my liking.  Having said that, it really is a fantastic book.  I just wouldn't recommend it for a younger reader.  I would probably let my 17 yr old read it, but any younger than that I don't think I could recommend it.  But for's just so very good just be aware there is language in it. Thank you Random House Publishing-Alibi and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this fantastic book.

This was the first book by T E Cook and midway thru I hurried and bought the 2nd and 3rd book by this author. The characters are carried thru all three and the plot is so interesting that while I am in the 3rd. I am sad there are not any more to read. They are exciting, and You cannot wait to read the next page. The characters are described so beautifully that you can picture them. I really enjoyed the books.

Very good at keeping you wondering who did what. Did not drag on, but kept you turning the pages. Good read.

Unconventionally written, but a good book. Most mysteries follow one protagonist who attempts to solve the mystery. This one starts with several seemingly random vignettes about seemingly unrelated people and events, then slowly draws them together. Well written, once you get past the "surprise" of the unusual format of the story. I've already bought the other two currently available, and am about to start the second. (I should note, I'd planned to give this four stars, but felt I had to help up the average due to the 1 star reviews from people who apparently couldn't get past the unconventional style.)

Excellent series. This is the first in the series and I've already purchased and read the next two with a pre order on the 3rd. Very well written, fast paced, story line. Extremely well developed and likable characters.

This may be the first Nook book where I highlighed nothing. A pointless, confused story where the only suspense is how did it get published. I was not entertained or informed by story.

It sounded interesting and for 99 cents how can you go wrong? This one is fun and quirky. I found I couldn't wait to get back to it after the chores were done. Vigilante justice? Yes, but still a very fun read.

T. E. Woods is a new author to me and from the 1st book, I was hooked. Loved the pace, the story line, the characters. What a great find and the best part is it is a series of 3 books. Pack these and bring them to the beach.....what a perfect way to spend the summer.

This is one of the best series I have read. I am grateful to T.E.Woods for not waiting years between books. The story introduces its characters and begins to build the foundation of sub plots, mixed with twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages and sitting on the edge of your seat. You end up liking some characters, disliking others and never really knowing what will happen next. Seeing that the author is a psychologist explains much about the lead character also being a psychologist. I don't want to reveal any of the plot, but you will almost want to say the murders are justified, as the killer also believes. The people "taken out" have done wrong and they are bad people. Since they will go unpunished, is it wrong to take the law into your own hands. Great story. Great series.
