Overview

Revolution. Does that word frighten or excite you? If it scares you, it might be best if you stop reading now. If it excites or intrigues you, keep reading because the news is good. A revolution of the heart, an uprising of the soul, an upheaval of the status quo is underway—and nothing is going to stop it.

Before today this rebellion against the materialist mindset has gone on in the margins—a few progressive visionaries here, a handful of social activists there. But now that millions of global citizens have actively begun choosing renewal over destruction, understanding over resentment, and hope over fear, the tide is unstoppable.

With The Flip Rosen and Rippe herald the arrival of this worldwide transformation and act as guides, gurus—even cheerleaders—for those who want to join the wave. An enthusiastic users' manual to the revolution, The Flip features visionary wisdom from luminaries in the fields of science, government, business, entertainment, and politics—pioneers who have already made the flip and are paving the way for others to follow.

Chatty, witty, and accessible no matter where you open the book, Rosen and Rippe offer simple yet practical "Flip Tips" for making body, spirit, and environment-sustaining changes in every aspect of your lives, from work, relationships and home life, to entertainment, food, transportation and healthcare.

The Flip will show you how to transform your life. If we work together, The Flip will save us all.

Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Cynthia Winfield
"Imagine yourself on a bridge between two worlds," standing poised to choose one or the other. The Upside-Down world offers stress, war, seemingly insurmountable debt, pollution, crime and violence, poisoned food, and pharmaceutical remedies. The Right-Side Up world is calm, meditative, mindful, nurturing, healthful and organic, and lighthearted. Barry lives in the readily recognizable Upside-Down world; Mary is living in the Right-Side Up world that offers glimpses that readers will recognize and new possibilities. In each chapter, Rosen and Rippe present their unabashedly biased views without preaching, use Barry's and Mary's lives for illustration, converse with four experts or celebrities who have experienced The Flip, and close with "flip tips" for flipping into the Right-Side Up world. Web addresses included throughout the text facilitate further research. Leaving room for readers to choose, Rosen and Rippe present an impassioned plea for sane and sustainable practices. After recognizing the upside-down aspects of today's world, readers appreciate how easily the Right-Side Up world could be attained. Paced for short attention spans, this comprehensive resource is useful for any content classroom as well as many electives. English classes could examine persuasive argument and comparison. Civics classes might explore societal structures, resource allocation, economics, values systems, and wealth distribution. Science curriculums covering fossil fuels, renewable energy, medical practices, and stressors-planetary and human-could benefit. Investigations of compound interest, exponential growth, ratios and proportions, and the effects of the Federal Reserve and fluctuating interestrates could provide real-life uses for mathematics. Even short, infrequent glimpses will lure readers to the empowering message.

Entertaining, Thought Provoking, A must read!

I read this book because I am a fan of David Rippe's writing, and I was told this would be a good book for me to read, because right now I am living an 'upside down' life. I'm not much into reading self help books, which I thought this book was but I thought I would give it a try. This is not a self help book. This is a book that doesn't tell you what you have to do to change your world, it is a book that gives you choices on how you can change your world. You can either to choose to live in a world where everything is chaotic and out of control. You choose to continue to walk through life as a robot settling for what you have or have been given, or you can choose to change those things and live in a more harmonious life and making decisions...choices for yourself. This book takes you through everything from your thinking, emotions, entertainment, the way we eat and the medications we take, politics, war, religion etc....In every chapter there are several interviews with well known celebrities, leaders, writers, investment advisors, doctor's and so forth. Also you are given those choices you can make to live in an up-right world. After reading this book I have chosen to live in an up-right world and will take what I have learned from the book to make that happen. It might not happen over night but it will happen. I definitely recommend this book to anyone living in and upside down world. You will not regret it. In fact you will want to thank both David Rippe and Jared Rosen for helping to change your life.

    Flip to the right side

The Flip is notably a motivating force to remind us to return to a right side up world. Its unique strengths, insights and witticisms encourage a reemergence of social consciousness and spiritual transformation. The perceptiveness of David Rippe and Jarred Rosen help us move through our conflicts and difficulties toward the love and trust we essentially need. The Flip should become a long-term trend. I hope it does! -- Suzannah Galland
