    Misty's story

"Mistykit, where are you?" A voice called. Terrified, I squinted through the snow-storm looking for the source of the voice. Cold flakes stung my eyes making it imposible to see. I shut them tight and tried to plow through the deep snow to the cat, but I could barely move. The voice grew fainter until I could hear nothing but howling wind sweeping over me. I mewled for help, but none came. I made a basin-shaped hole in the snow and curled up in it. I wrapped my tail around myself and buried my nose in it, trying to extract as much warmth as I could. I knew I wouldn't last long though. I was lost with no place to go, no one to help. I drifted off to sleep, to young to know that if you fall asleep in the snow, you die in the snow. *** I woke with a start. Something had changed. I felt warm, like I had been thawed out. I felt a soft bundle wrapped around me, giving out warmth. It was a comfort I had never felt before. As my eyes fluttered open, I noticed a change of scene as well. Instead of blinding flakes of ice fliting around, the air was clear and dark. Yellow flames danced inside a frame, giving off a warm glow. Shadows fluttered around a bit, moving with the light. I was laying in a pile off stuff like fur, but it was thicker and mended together. I was surrounded by walls made of wood, but looking closer I saw a door. I decided I would look into it later, after I was sure of some things. Was I in Starclan? No, it wasn't like I had imagined. If it was Starclan, there would have been starry cats surrounding me, and the space would have been vast, maybe infinate. Not having any clue about where I was, I crept out of the bundle and stepped from the carboard box. The floor was something like I was laying in, but a bit coarser and stuck to the ground. As I approached the source of light and warmth, I grew more curious. I sat and squinted when I got right near it, then slowly extended my tiny paw forwards. Bad idea. Seering heat and pain shot through my leg. The fur on my paw singed and withered. I yowled as I quickly recoiled then starting licking my paw furiously. I grimmaced as I still felt my paw burning. Suddenly I froze and flicked my ears. A noise came from somewhere in the room, most likely from another creature. A figure rose from a seat, and I jumped, my fur bristling and my claws unsheathing. I had neither seen or scented the animal before. It seemed as if it had been melted into the seat, blending in. When I landed, pain pulsed through my leg again. I squeeked and shrank back. The animal, which I realized from stories must have been a twoleg, picked me up and started stroking my fur. I relaxed my claws a bit, which had been sinking into the twoleg's clothes. It said something in twoleg language softly, then took me abd treated my leg. It set me back down in the soft bundle, and gave me some milk. I fell asleep again, foretting my home and my family. (I hope you liked it! Tell me if I should write more) ~Foxspirit of Blazeclan
