Meet the Author

Hi, my name is Rosemary. My nationality is English although my parentage stems from celtic roots. My main passion is writing but I also paint, mostly in oils.I am first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother; previously a practical, down to earth business woman - now retired.Born dyslexic into an academically oriented family in the days before the disability was recognised, early years were not easy. But having to prove myself to myself, has stood me in good stead and toughened my character. I knew I could write - even if I couldn’t spell. My fear of reading in public led to the development of a keen memory. My inborn love of the written word helped me to overcome my disability and to eventually become a mainstream published author. I am now trying my hand at e-publishing. My writings include adult fiction, astrological books, poetry and children’s stories.** Remember to de-activate the adult filter to be able to view my adult novel, Lust, Love and Lies.Although not as young as I used to be, I hope I still remain ‘young at heart', always able to truthfully hold my hand up to a firm belief in the magic of childhood - not the J. K. Rowling kind (although I adore the books and films), but rather the wonderment of the Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy years. My photo is a rather old one - taken many years ago - however at heart it still represents the real me. I love children and equate to them, some might say because deep down I have never entirely grown up. To tell the truth, I hope I never really do.Besides the facebook URL above I also can be found on the Percy Prickles and Friends Page where I showcase my e-books and update my readers with news and information.

Spatters of a Life: Chapter 7

Before I start, I need to apologize for taking so long. Long story, includes rl issues...but nevermind them! Chapter seven is here at last!<p>"Can I please go hunting?" Burnedshard begged.<br>The medicine cat shook her head. "You've only been here two days. Another day or two and you can go, but not now."<br>Burnedshard pouted, ignoring Smokeshade's smirk. "But if I have to stay with him any longer, I'll explode!"<br>"Then it's a good thing he's almost recovered," the medicine cat sighed as she left.<br>Smokeshade laughed. "You know you can't win, yet you fight anyway. BirchClan needs more cats like you."<br>Burnedshard gave him a look. "No, I fight because I know that I CAN win."<br>Smokeshade gives her a lopsided grin. "You think Flarefang and Ashpaw could use that mentality?"<br>She flinches inward but replies steadily, "They do. They're fighting. You just weren't hurt as badly as them since the rogue was fighting for your Clan."<br>His eyes glint, dangerous yet intriguing. "Are you kidding? The rogues weren't fighting for us. They were using us to get to a cat that's not even here. And don't group me with the fools what attacked you."<br>"What, you crossed the border just so you wouldn't get in the fight?" Burnedshard's voice dripped with sarcasm, but deep down she knew he was clever enough to have schemed just that–and probably had.<br>Smokeshade seemed to sense this. "Yeah. You think I want to take my chances against OakClan? After what the rogues did to BirchClan?"<br>While she knew he wanted her to ask what he meant, she couldn't resist doing so. "What did they do?"<br>"They stormed the camp, looking for a white cat. They'd already killed my sister before they realized he wasn't there. So they told us to help them attack you."<br>Burnedshard couldn't help the sympathetic pang that hit her, but she forced it down as she asked, "So who was the one that attacked the camp? Where'd the others go?"<br>Smokeshade laughed, but it wasn't the same as the good-natured laugh he'd given earlier; it was crueler, filled with malice. "Oh, he was alone. Stank of Twolegplace." At her wide gaze, he added, "He's a scrawny thing, but he's a lot tougher than he looks. And fast. That Gorsejump cat was dead before we realized he was there. All your Clanmates what weren't fighting cowered in their dens, so they didn't notice anything 'til you guys showed up. You have seriously bad timing, you know."<br>Burnedshard stared at the floor of the den. She'd glimpsed the dark cat for just a second, but it had felt like forever. As she processed Smokeshade's description, the image came to mind. The slender–no, skinny–shape, the gray fur, the long tail. And for that heartbeat when he'd turned, looked at the warriors as they arrived...the look of his sharp, piercing eyes...and suddenly she leaped up with a cry of, "No!"<br>The BirchClan warrior stared at her. "No...what?"<br>Burnedshard slowly turned toward him, remembering the sunset-colored gaze. "I...I know who attacked you."<p>So. When I said Wednesday, I'd kinda meant two weeks ago. Whoops. I'm seriously sorry you had to wait all this time. If I don't lose my Nook again, I should get the next chapter out by THIS Wednesday. And on Halloween, you can expect an unaffiliated side story...painted with blood. Get it? Because the first book was...nevermind. Anyway, thanks for all the encouragement and I'll get the next chapter out on time. Oh, and yes, Adder and Coal are toms; Shard was joking at their expense.
