I found this book to be very thoughtful, and well written. I enjoyed Davidson's realistic and gradual formation of the Montgomery family. Johanna, forms and instant bond with Pete and Timothy Montgomery. They help her to ease the pain of emotional abuse she suffered in the past as only children can. Johanna's relationship with Tate Montgomery is more complicated. She is at times wary of him, physically attracted to him, and cautious of giving her life into the care of a man. But like most things time and patience helps.
