The Forever Marriage is a compelling examination of a relationship and of a woman facing up to her imperfect past. It merits comparison to the best work of Anne Tyler, Elizabeth Berg, and Alice Sebold.

    Best book of the year!

A long wait since her first book, A Wild Ride up the Cupboards, but worth absolutely every moment I have waited. A can't put down book and my pick of the year.

    hated this book

The main character in this book is so unlikeable I couldn't even read half this book. She has several affairs while she is married to a man that she never really loved. She continues an affair while he is dying of cancer. After he dies she is diagnosed with cancer. The reader suffers through her condition and practically in the same sentence she sexually describes another trist she has with her lover. Gross! This book plays out more like a crappy soap opera than as described as a forever marriage. Her parenting skills lack as well. Boring horrible book.

Really enjoyed this and did not see the twist coming so quickly to the self absorbed main character. Hope to see more from this author.
