This is a book that keeps you from putting it down. The stories are graphic and tells it how it was during the old days of real police work. It tells you how an honest cop dealt with the day to day events that he walked into and how the brass could let a cop be a cop in order to get the job done. It brings out how cops of that day dealt with the stress and horrors from being shot at to being killed, and even stabbed. A must read for anyone who wants to know about the north end of Hartford, CT
