Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
A brilliant, elegantly written work, highly original and personalin its portrayal of five of the most important of Zionist theorists, from Pinsker to Jabotinsky. The author...was himself an activist in the Revisionist Zionist movement and an aide to one the founders about whom he writes....-Michael Curtis, Rutgers University
Seth Frantzman
The book is made all the more pertinent by the fact that its author is the recently deceased Benzion Netanyahu, a confidant of Jabotinsky, scholar of the history of the Jews and Spain and father of the prime minister. This monograph is not laid out as one work but is a collection of five essays that were published between 1937 and 1981. The essays are presented chronologically. These were prescient words when he wrote them in 1981, and are certainly still meaningful today.
Michael Curtis
Throughout history political systems have come to an end when citizens of countries lose faith in them. The state of Israel has not had to face this situation in the extreme, but it has been challenged by so-called "post-Zionism." Netanhayu serves a valuable role in reminding us of the need to establish a safe and secure state in which Jews can live a healthy and normal life, rather than, as in the 1940s, having boatloads of refugees turned away, leaving them to drown.

In these last days; real insight concerning Zionism

Magnificent book outstanding research and insight into Zionism obviously the God of the Bible at work here [though the author may not agree]. My 'take-away' from this book: had the Zionism leadership followed and acted on the guidance and insight of these men, the Holocaust could have been prevented. Zionism had the complete legal, political and 'will of the people' of England for a critical period in history. Alas, the Zionism leadership preferred to 'play it safe' in maintaining untenable political alliances and the grand opportunity left the stage of history and the curtain fell mercilessly on the then trapped people of the Book in Europe.
