Posted on Romancing the Books blog / Reviewed by Angieleigh / Review Copy from the Publisher / As much as I love short stories/novellas, my biggest complaint is that my favorites are way too short.
The Fourth Kiss is indeed, too short.
I absolutely ADORED Madeleine. She was spunky, mostly fearless, humble, and not afraid to go after what she wants. Phillip won my heart quickly, though like most men of the era, he had a hard time separating himself from chivalry and knowing when someone was a lost cause – such as his former fiancee, whom I DID NOT LIKE AT ALL.
Margaret, Madeleine’s sister, is delightfully mischievous! She schemes to get Sir Phillip to pay more attention to her sister than his dratted ex.
Overall this is a light and touching read that you can finish on a cold afternoon in front of the fire. I do hope the author revisits these characters and either creates a series of novella involving Sir Phillip’s sister and Margaret, or writes a novel about them.
