Overview

If you’re nine, or older, and love laughing out loud at books, then The Franklin Files are for you.

Fast, frenzied and very, very funny, this is actually two books in one - the award-winning 48 Hours with Franklin and its sequel Franklin Falls Apart.

Described in The Scotsman as “by far the funniest book ever to win the Fidler Award for new writing,” 48 Hours with Franklin was originally published by Blackie Children’s Books in 1993, and by Puffin a year later. Now it’s available as an ebook, together with its sequel Franklin Falls Apart.

When Franklin's hand comes off in public, they just about cope. It's when Franklin's head comes off that the trouble really starts...

Meet the Author

I was born in Scotland but spent my early childhood in India. I studied English Literature at York University, Publishing Studies at Stirling University and have had lots of different jobs – from tattie howking, cleaning and lexicography, to collecting oral histories, waitressing and journalism. I've been writing for children since the early 1990s.I'm best known for my picture book texts, which include William and the Night-Train, One More Sheep, Friendly Day, and the Suzy Sue series (Have You Seen My Potty?, A Bed of Your Own, Atchoo, and Nursery Time), all published by Hodder Children's Books.
