This series could only be described as a good first draft but an undoubtedly unfinished and unpolished final project. It has some interesting ideas, some intriguing situations and characters, BUT the flow is horrendous and there is so much information missing I spent half of the series just saying "What?". It was really hard to decipher who the target audience was supposed to be, too, it started out seeming like a YA read, but then it has random flashes of kind of disgusting violence and a couple sex scenes so I guess that's not the case? I hope? Not something I would want my kids reading anyway. Another irritation is through the first two books it seems every chapter, if not every other paragraph within each chapter, is punctuated by Frey going to sleep or passing out. And it's not just that she falls asleep or passes out, it's that every time she does so it's described like "and then I feel asleep". Not an interesting way to do things. Also, throughout the series, the only emotion it seems anyone knows how to feel is anger. Burning anger, boiling anger, rage seething, annoyance flickering, and on and on. So many continuity issues, and the third book was a total train wreck of random names and characters with no explanations, no back stories, just ___ was there. Dun dun dun. like we should know what that means. I did not. I kept expecting to get the rest of the story to fill in the gaps and never did. I just finished the series and still found myself shaking my head and going "What?". Good start, but I would say the editors for this series should quit their day job and do something else, because somebody majorly failed here.

I felt book one ended without properly finishing the last battle. Bok two and Molly were well done. Book three would not turn pages properly after page 508. I had to leap directly to each page from 508 to 5137

I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting, intelligently written with well fleshed out characters. I can hardly wait for the next Frey book.
