I've certainly read better scifi books and the writing at times seems closer to the pulp fiction of the 1940s and 50s, but I will have to say that what the author lacks in technic, he surely makes up in imagination. The Galactic Seven is a fun book to read. The adventure begins on the first page and doesn't end till the last. It was hard to put down and I nearly read the whole book in one setting. Mr. Wilson ends his chapters with cliff hangers which is great. There is not much wasted in the story telling. The book is to the point. The characters are believable and the world that M H Wilson creates seems real. The book is supposedly aimed at young adults or perhaps juviniles, but I enjoyed it myself and I am over 40. Again, the writing seems outdated, but perhaps this was the goal of the author. Perhaps it was written in that style on purpose. His favorite author is Edgar Rice Burroughs and the writing is very much like Burroughs. I can recommend this for anyone who likes science fiction and/or adventure. This book gives you that and more.
