The Game

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Jon Azpiri
The Game acts as a perfect follow-up to his 1997 album, Long Time, No See. Like Long Time, No See, many of the tracks on The Game feel deeply autobiographical. On the title track, Debarge tells the story of an ex-con struggling to stay on the straight and narrow, a story that resonates with listeners who know that Debarge himself spent several years in jail for trafficking cocaine. Amid the personal drama, Debarge also provides plenty of mid-tempo tracks aimed straight at the libido. Tracks like the self-explanatory "Sexual" are filled with the kind of growls and yelps of joy that you'd hear on a Marvin Gaye record. While Debarge falls well short of a master like Gaye, he is...

    Your Way today

Chico knows a secret and he is sharing it on what has to be my favorite cut on this whole CD--"Your Way" or more affectionately no.11. If more men understood romance and displayed their sensitive side there would be a lot more happy couples. I may be new to THE GAME, but I know good music. This is that and then some. I call it my "Sensual Suite" because when I am restless at the end of the day I can always pop in one of Chico's CDs, kick back and relax and let his groove take me away...ooh, it's gettin hot in here! As I said in my review of LONG TIME NO SEE, there really is no comparison to this guy on the music scene right now. I highly reccommend his newest: FREE. In it you will find a mature Chico getting deep in "Page From My Journal" exhibiting sensuality and spirituality. I love that about him and I hope and pray that he can keep up the qood work.

    Chico...*swooning*

I really really like this album. One thing that I enjoy about Chico Debarge's talent is the fever, heat that he puts into his music, you can feel every single emotion that he is trying to show his audience.

This Man Has Talents. Much Love

This man has done it again. This ablum is the bomb. I have all of his ablums that he has ever drop. I am so happy for Mr. Chico Debarge on this amazing ablum. If you don't have The Game, You Need To Run Not walk, Run To The Music Store and pick one up for you and your man. I have two words to describe this Ablum. IT'S HOT.
