    A Gardener's Winter Retreat

This enormous, over 500 page book is an astounding collection of beautiful photos and drawings. It's just the kind of "retreat" gardeners enjoy while waiting for spring. There's so much to observe in many of the pictures. The down side of this "retreat" however, is the compiler's negative life philosophy in the sparse text, and the fact that some of the choices of photos are taken from uninteresting and not very eye-appealing angles.
