Title: The Gentle Art of Quilting - 15 Projects Inspired By Everyday Beauty Author: Jean Brocket Published: 3-5-14 Publisher: Anora Books/ Collins & Brown Pages: 160 Genre: Crafts, Hobbies & Home Sub Genre: Neddlecrafts; Quilts & Quilting; Textiles ISBN: 9781909397910 ASIN: B00PPH56GG Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 5 Stars . For the new and less experienced quilter who already know the basics as well as for the experienced quilter who have may have lost their spark for the craft. I came to quilting in my twenties, but soon was knee deep in material and old garments to use. Jane Brocket shows us that we are not tied to traditional patterns and materials. Rather she encourages quilters to change things up. Rearrange patters or using something other than just cotton. I finally found a way to use the pillowcases my grandmother made for me over 30 years ago to save them in artful way. The old garments we all have in our closets or saved from our children's growing years make beautiful Memory Quilts that I have made several of over the years. There are patterns included that use, silks, gauzes, and even denim. The instructions are easy to understand and most have photographs to show the finished product and some show the layout of the pattern. My rating is 5 out of 5 stars.
