All Music Guide - Scott Yanow

A few of the numbers are given light funk rhythms and made to sound slightly "contemporary" particularly "I've Got Plenty O' Nuthin'," which has an electric Ramsey Lewis-type groove, but overall, this is a very tasteful and respectful set -- a classy package.
