Overview

Now your gifts can reflect your warm, caring thoughts and reflect the beautiful and comforting style that is Shabby Chic. Rachel Ashwell shares the wonderful gift ideas she has collected throughout the years and shows you how to express your sentiments with a classic alluring style. She shows you how to pick the perfect gift for the perfect person or occasion and then how to wrap and decorate it with style. For example, instead of giving your fashion-obsessed best friend a sweater in a box, why not put it on an old antique dressmaker's dummy? Instead of giving an impersonal holiday card from Hallmark, why not create personalized cards that fit every occasion? The Shabby Chic Gift of Giving is a perfect book for the holiday season, and it will offer year round gift giving guidance for birthdays, Valentine's Day, Christmas or Hanukkah, Mother's Day, Father's Day and other special occasions.

I recently bought this and was very impressed with how inspiring it was! I love Shabby Chic and I thought it wouldn't be as good as the other books because it was about gift giving - wrong! I was instantly inspired by some of the flower ideas and I love most of the gift ideas in it. The book itself would make an excellent present to a friend. Overall, this is a wonderful and beautiful book, and the pictures are gorgeous!

This book is both wonderful and beautiful. I am a huge fan of Rachel Ashwell and all her books, so of coarse this is a great addition to my collection of her decorating books. I love the look of shabby chic because it is romantic and beautiful. The book has great ideas for decorating for any holiday or for any event. The little things and details matter in your home and this book is great for adding the perfect touch in a room. And what could be a happier idea than gift wrapping in a style and way you love. It really brings out your creative side. The book has Beautiful illustrations and it has fun/easy "do-it-yourself" projects. If you buy this book you'll want to be wrapping gifts for everyone. Lucky receivers!

FINALLY a book I can relate to. Most creative books like hers treat you like you're a beginner and they don't get too overly creative. I highly recommend this book for someone who's really looking for outside the box ideas on wrapping and thoughtfulness.
