Meet the Author

Debra Ordes was born and raised in New York City. At the age of 12, she was diagnosed with scoliosis. She has a degree in Secretarial Sciences from the Wood Secretarial School in Manhattan and pursued a career as a Legal Assistant. After her third scoliosis spinal surgery, she founded The Scoliosis Association of Palm Harbor in 2002, for which she served as President for ten years. In 2004, she joined the Board of Directors of the Scoliosis Association, Inc., an international information and support network, as Eastern Regional Director for four years. Thereafter, she was elected to serve a two year term as Executive Vice President, which was followed by her leadership as national President. Voluntarily, she has been the coordinator of global missions for critical and complex scoliosis cases, working side by side with orthopaedic spine surgeon, Anthony P. Moreno, MD.

Anthony P. Moreno, MD, received his Bachelor�s and Medical degrees from the University of Florida, where he graduated with honors. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Jackson Memorial Medical Center/University of Miami. He has also completed a Spine Surgery Fellowship at Hahnemann/ Penn. A board certified orthopaedic spine surgeon, Dr. Moreno is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has done presentations around the world on spinal surgical techniques.
Dr. Moreno has been in private practice since 1998 and has completed over 3,000 spinal surgeries, from the most basic to the most complex. He treats a wide variety of spinal disorders with techniques such as microdisectomy, scoliosis correction, and total disk replacement. Dr. Moreno enjoys basic cervical and lumbar microsurgeries but also spends a large portion of his practice on complex revision spinal deformities in adults and children. He specializes in scoliosis and kyphosis reconstruction. He is an Active Fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society and is the Director of the Mease Neuro-Ortho Spine Surgery Center at Mease Countryside Hospital. Dr. Moreno is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of South Florida, Department of Orthopedics. He is also the orthopaedic spine surgeon for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has active privileges at Tampa General Hospital and Mease Countryside Hospital and consulting privileges at Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa and St. Joseph�s Hospital. Dr. Moreno is Chairman of the Global Scoliosis Foundation, Inc.

This was a very interesting story and a must for anybody with scoliosis or back problems to read. It gave me hope and answers to some of my problems. I wish this book was out for me to read years ago. I am glad I read it and highly recommend it.

This book is very heartwarming and touched my heart as it goes through all her journies and the people she met,so she really deserves this 5!!!
