Chapter One THE TEACHER RECEIVED THE GIFT OF TWO GOLDFISH. THEY SWAM TOGETHER IN A MEDIUM SIZED BOWL.

THEY SWAM AND PLAYED AND SPLASHED ABOUT TOGETHER IN HAPPY, FROLICSOME PLAY TO GROW OLD.

NEVER DID LITTLE FISHY AND GOLDY THINK THAT EVER THEY WOULD BE LEFT APART.

BUT ONE SAD MORNING THE TEACHER FOUND LITTLE FISHY LYING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL, IT SADDENED HER HEART.

SHE TOOK THE BOWL HOME SO GENTLY TO SIT BESIDE HER SPARKLY, AND SO WHITE KITCHEN SINK.

SHE THOUGHT, "I'LL REMEMBER TO FEED IT NOW AFTER BREAKFAST CLEAN-UP DISHES ARE DONE, I THINK!"

SO IT HAPPENED ONE WEEKEND UPON HER RETURN FROM A TEACHER'S CONFERENCE OF TWO DAYS.

SHE CAME THROUGH THE DOOR WITH LUGGAGE IN HAND AND NOTICED A BURNED ODOR IN THE AIR SEEMED TO SAY.

SHE ASKED HER HUSBAND WHY THE HOUSE HAD AN AROMA OF BURNED GREEN BEANS ... OH MY, WHAT GLORY!

HE SAID, "THAT IS BECAUSE, I DID BURN THE GREEN BEANS. BUT THAT IS NOT ALL OF THE GREEN BEAN STORY."

THAT MORNING WHEN HE WENT TO SCRUB THE PAN THAT HE HAD SOAKED IN SUDS OVERNIGHT,

HE FOUND GOLDY THE FISH LYING OH SO STILL. IT GAVE HIM QUIET AN UNEXPECTED FRIGHT.

HE TOOK GOLDY, OH SO GENTLY, AND PLACED HER BACK INTO HER BOWL TO SWIM IN A HAPPY PLACE, AT LAST.

GOLDY WAS VERY GRATEFUL TO THE TEACHER'S HUSBAND. GOLDY WISKED HER TAIL BACK AND FORTH SO FAST.

GOLDY'S ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT AND PLAYFUL CHARM WAS AMAZING AND SPECTACULAR TO SEE.

SO ALL WAS WELL UNTIL THAT FATEFUL DAY WHEN TERROR WOULD VISIT THE TEACHER'S HOUSE, OH ME!!!

SHE THOUGHT IN THE CAR, WHILE ON HER WAY HOME "THIS MORNING, I FORGOT DEAR GOLDY TO FEED."

SHE PARKED HER CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY AS ALWAYS. INTO THE HOUSE HER INSTINCT WOULD TAKE THE LEAD.

NOW SHE RUSHED TO THE BOWL, BESIDE THE SINK TO HER TERROR TO SEE, THAT NO GOLDFISH WAS FOUND.

HER HIGH SPIRITED, CHARMING AND ADVENTUROUS GOLDY NOT IN SIGHT ANYWHERE TO BE SEEN, NOWHERE AROUND.

SHE SAID TO HER HUSBAND, "WHERE IS GOLDY, MY DEAR? DID YOU BURN THE GREEN BEANS?" ....SHE REALLY WISHES!!!

HE CAME RUSHING TO THE SINK AND SAID, "OH ME, OH MY! THIS MORNING WHEN I SCRAPED THE DISHES ...

I HEARD A CRUNCHING, GRINDING SOUND FOR SURE. I THOUGHT ONLY WATER WENT DOWN THE SINK.

I WONDERED, WHY SUCH A CRUNCHING SOUND? SOFT FOOD SHOULD NOT SOUND THAT WAY! YOU THINK?"....

GOLDY'S JUMPING SPIRIT DID HER IN THIS TIME. NO MORE WOULD SHE FROLIC, PLAY, AND LARK.

THERE WAS NO SOAKING PAN IN THE SINK THERE ONLY A HOLE IN THE SINK, DEEP AND DARK.

GOLDY SWIMS NO MORE BY THE SINK IN A BOWL. SHE MADE THE CHOICE AGAIN TO LEAP OUT.

BUT BEFORE SHE LEAPED, SHE DIDN'T REALLY KNOW THAT DANGER LURKED AND WAITED ABOUT.

SHE HAD JUMPED BEFORE AND PLAYED ABOUT AND NO HARM CAME TO HER THEN ... BUT LEARN THIS LESSON

BEFORE YOU LEAP, BE THANKFUL FOR WHERE YOU ARE. SWIM AROUND AND ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL BLESSING.

ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR WHERE YOU FIND YOURSELF. LOOK ALL AROUND, HAVE A SOFT PLACE TO FALL.

IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO KNOW SOMEONE REALLY CARES. BUT TAKE THE CHANCE, TAKE THE RISK AND ENJOY IT ALL.

GOLDY NOW LIVES IN A SPECIAL PLACE IN THE HEARTS OF ALL THE TEACHER'S SPECIAL STUDENTS SO DEAR.

THE TEACHER TAKES A PAIR OF HER STUDENTS TO LUNCH EACH WEEK OF THE EXCITING 9 MONTH SCHOOL YEAR.

SHE ALWAYS TELLS THE STUDENTS SHE TAKES TO LUNCH THE STORY OF "THE GIFT OF THE JUMPING GOLDFISH."

SHE SMILES AND ORDERS TWO KID'S MEAL DEALS. SHE ORDERS HERSELF A FISH SANDWICH AND DOES WISH ...

THAT HER STUDENTS LEARN TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES AS THEY GO ON THEIR LIFE'S JOURNEY'S WAY.

ALWAYS LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP FROM ONE PLACE TO THE NEXT. BE SURE IT IS WHERE YOU WANT TO LEARN AND PLAY.

GIVE THANKS FOR WHAT YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW, WHERE YOU ARE, AND MAKE YOUR LIVING SPACE

THE MOST LOVELY, WONDERFUL SURROUNDINGS YOU SEE. THE GIFT OF BLESSINGS WILL LIVE IN YOUR HAPPY PLACE.
