The Gifts: (Vol 1-The Gifts Trilogy)

Nine gifts were stolen from a mythical man with wings ages ago. Those nine gifts found themselves transferred into human eggs, delved out through in vitro fertilization. These newly made beings were born into the world unbeknownst to man. There are dark spirits searching for those gifts, ready to reclaim them from the humans who have been created to bear them...

When twenty-one year old Nahla Marks decides to start her junior year at Wake Forest university as an education major instead of continuing on the path to pre-med, everything seems to fall apart. Her world is turned upside down as this strange "thing" begins to manifest within her. Nahla fears she is losing it until she meets Gideon, the man with the silky smooth voice and chocolate brown hair, who seems to understand exactly what Nahla is going through.

Gideon knows the answers, but can Nahla trust him as her body begins to betray the fact that she may not be quite as human as she thought? Will Gideon be able to save Nahla from the dark spirits that are hunting them both?

Three months ago no one even knew her name, but now, bound by a curse and on the run, there was no one else she could trust…but him.

I'm glad I came across this book. I'm picky with the books I read. They have to keep me interested from page one. This book did just that! I enjoyed it enormously. I'm a big fan of Harry potter and twilight, I've read all the series and very excited to be able to read "The gift" trilogy.

But worth reading all 3 books. To the author, good luck with your future as a writer and may all your dreams come ture.

I didn't find the story compelling at first, though I did finish the book. I'm surprised by the gushing reviews as I don't see this writer in the same league as Twilight. Okay if you are looking to fill time.

I had high expectations of this book after reading the good reviews. I am left feeling disappointed. The writing is amateur and the editing was sloppy (I found several grammar and punctuation errors). The "forbidden love" between the two main characters was sappy and unbelievable. The details of the story were shallow and felt unresearched. If you're looking for a simple fantasy romance in the vein of Twilight, you might be able to get some enjoyment out of this book. However, if you enjoy higher caliber more in-depth writing, such as the Harry Potter or Hunger Games series, don't waste your time on this book.
