About the Author

Sylvia Lucero is a first-time author, but not new to writing. Inspired by the creative writings of her aunt and constant motivation from her late grandfather, she’s been writing short, unpublished stories since the moment she could hold a pencil. Those stories never moved past stapled sheets of printer paper, though, until The Girl From Gaylen. Originally just an outlet to cope with the stresses of the pandemic, the desire to create a full world for the characters of Gewel, Florian and Gaillard (boosted by encouragement from friends and family) quickly grew until not just one but three novels were complete.
When she’s not writing, you can find her at home in Lexington, KY, with her family and rambunctious orange cat Mory, who would like his own credit in this book for the amount of times he sat on her laptop during writing sessions (surely spurring the creativity with his cuteness!).
