Overview

As the famed black wizard of death, Zolton had two functions: first, to protect the world from the mistakes of all the lower wizards, and second, to destroy any being who rebels against nature and the will of God. Being an assassin of God has its perks, but when the League of Wizards charges Zolton’s beloved apprentice, Salamander, with treason and sentences him to death, the black wizard of death is obligated to carry out Salamander’s execution, even if it breaks Zolton’s massive heart.
Amanda has spent the entirety of her life hiding her true nature from her great black master. Only now as she hits puberty, her feminine body has become much more difficult to conceal, as well as the dangerous love she feels for Zolton. As Zolton’s apprentice, Salamander has access to the grandest powers in the universe, powers that are illegal for Amanda to posses, but as Salamander, she could learn from the most powerful wizard on earth, and stay with her beloved master.
When Salamander’s true nature is reveled to all, Amanda and Ferret, Amanda’s best friend and the only person in the world who knew her secret, are forced into hiding. Ferret shields Amanda from Zolton’s violent attacks, and mends her heart from the soul shattering loss of her master. As they continue to run, their undying friendship flourishes and Zolton has to watch while Ferret and Amanda fall in love.

The story made little to no sense because so much was attempted but none of it was successfully executed. She over drew the picture, and the attempt at romantic underplots weren't well settled.

I did like this book and story. The reason for the low rating is all the misspellings, and word repeating. I know this is getting more common in self published books but it really drives me crazy when i have to read a sentence several times to figure out what the author is trying to say. Also there has to be a better way to handle a single charactor being present in a same time than to repeat his name multiple times in a single sentence.

The author did an excellent job with her world building, her character building and her storyline. I started the book one evening and sat up most of the night before I had to sleep and then finished it the next day. It's not all that often that a book grabs me like that either. I was totally engaged in the storyline and absolutely enchanted with the characters. The book is a long one which is good because it provides so much detail and enables the reader to clearly understand where they are being led. I read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy and this one will stay on my nook. It's a keeper. I can easily recommend the book to lovers of fantasy.

Fabulous! Well written and exciting. Romantic, but not erotic. Super long, yet the perfect length! Some of the gender confusion was a little weird on my opinion. Overall, great.

This was a very looking 1200 pg book. I have read several other books of this length that did not take me this long to read. The only reason why I kept reading is because I was curious how the book ended and how everyone was related. The most intriguing part of this book is that the author brought G-d into the equation. Many religious people believe that where there is magic, there cannot be G-d. I will not be recommending this book to anyone else to read.
