Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
This addition to Barron's Golden Book series will sate the imagination of every American sugar lover. Consider just a sampling of The Golden Book of Baking's 300 recipes: raspberry delights, double chocolate pound cake, lemon and lime meringue pie, almond bows, apple crumble kuchen, marbled cream cheese squares, pecan crunch yogurt cake, strawberry cream cupcakes...the list goes on and on. A scale of difficulty rating accompanies each of the recipes, and the book's introduction provides essential information on ingredients, preparation methods, and baking equipment. A moderately priced 700-page baking cookbook.\
From the Publisher

"Barron's brings bakers . . . delicious treats for the holiday season . . . . home bakers will find many treasures here."

"From plain and simple to extravagant, this book covers the gamut and the exquisite photos provide inspiration."

Library Journal
Barron's brings bakers two delicious treats for the holiday season. Both titles include a full-color photo with each recipe, difficulty level rating (1, 2, or 3), and clear, concise instructions that are detailed enough for bakers with moderate experience, though there are no tips or hints for beginners. Bardi, a prolific Italian cookbook author and coauthor of other titles in this series (The Golden Book of Cookies; The Golden Book of Chocolate), provides 300 recipes for every occasion: holidays (Christmas mince pie), children's parties (Ladybug Cupcakes; Marshmallow Pizza), or just to show off a baker's skills (Plum and Hazelnut Meringue Torte). The gold-edged pages and ribbon place marker add a gifty appeal.

    Great photos with each recipe

I bought this book because my son has a peanut allergy. I'm afraid to buy cake from the bakery due to the risk of cross contamination. With this, I at least know what's going in to it. I love cookbooks that have pics with each recipe and this has just that. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures are bright and vivid. I'm sure I'[ll use it for years to come.
