Overview

With recipes for 250 delicious pasta dishes, The Golden Book of Pasta can justifiably be called the definitive cookbook for lovers of spaghetti, penne, linguini, fettuccine, ravioli, lasagna, and the many other pasta varieties. But this book offers more than recipes. Home chefs will also be enlightened with--
  • A history of pasta
  • General cooking and serving instructions
  • â?¢ A picture catalog that shows and describes more than 80 pasta varieties

Next come the recipes for pasta dishes and their sauces, arranged in chapters covering six general pasta categories--

  • Short Pasta: rigatoni with onion sauce, Tuscan pasta & garbanzo bean soup, farfalle with veggie sauce, penne with tuna and cherry tomatoes, and many more
  • Long Pasta: linguine with parsley & cream, spicy spaghetti with pine nuts & raisins, linguine with almond pesto, and many more
  • Fresh Pasta: tagliatelle with mussels, borage fettuccine with butter & cheese, rosemary tagliatelle in lamb sauce, and many more
  • Stuffed Pasta: mushroom anolini with butter & herbs, eggplant ravioli with tomato sauce, seafood ravioli, and many more
  • Baked Pasta: baked tagliatelle with shrimp & white wine, Sicilian cannelloni, lasagna with spring vegetables, and many more
  • Noodles: pork and shrimp noodle soup, bell pepper & noodle stir-fry, Thai crab & rice noodles, and many more

The final chapter on noodles transcends Italian cuisine, and includes international recipes representative of China, Japan, Vietnam, and other faraway places. Handsome and appetizing color photos of all finished dishes.
