Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
An Easter-egg hunt turns up eggs of all colors, glinting with foil, in The Golden Egg by A.J. Wood, illus. by Maggie Kneen. The eggs glitter from behind die-cut, fold-out pages. The little duck never gets the golden egg he seeks--a goose gives him a chocolate egg instead.
Midwest Book Review
The Golden Egg may not lend to repeated library use but it's perfect for parents and read-aloud situations: bright flaps invite youngster attention to what's hidden behind them as the story line tells of a duck who searches for a special golden egg. A fun Easter storybook for the very young.

    Beautiful Book!

I LOVE this book. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is simple but enjoyable to read to my children. I have bought many copies as gifts for other children.

    Wonderful book beyond Easter

My 2.5 yr old son received this as an Easter gift and just loved it. It is still his favorite book and 2 months has passed. He loves the shimmery colors, illustrations, flaps, words...everything. This is a great book! As a parent, I like the book as well. It is a classy book.

A great gift book, particularly for Easter.

This beautifully illustrated book features animals on a hunt for a golden egg with lift-and-look flaps under which the child "finds" different colored eggs. Because of its gilded illustrations, the book makes a wonderful gift, particularly for Easter. A young child might also learn his/her colors and animal names by being read this cute story.

    Special Easter Gift

This was the second time I came across this book and kick myself for not buying it a year earlier. This is a classic. Beautifully illustrated. (I should have bought one for myself.) This again was an Easter gift, purchased two as gifts for 4 year old children.

    Happy Easter!

As a mom of three, I look hard for great books for my kids. This is a real Easter treat for them. I got it along with another great book called Nose Pickin' (and 50 Other Ways to Tickle Your Brain!).

    Excellent Lift-the-Flap Book

Although intended for ages 5 and up, my 17 month old son loves this book. It is the one book that he constantly brings to me to read throughout the day. Each page has a shimmery different colored egg, and several forest animals to learn about. The illustrations are superb.
