Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
This series of Ninjago books feature Lego characters. At this point in the continuing story, four young ninjas have found three of the weapons of Spinjitzu. Young Kai's sleep is interrupted when he hears his sister has been captured by evil forces. He races to find her and ends up in a temple where he sees the fourth weapon. Kai is tricked into snatching the sword of fire to free his sister and tries fighting the evil Garmandon. In the meantime, the Skeleton warriors have captured the trio of heroes and the trio of weapons. Sensi Wu is desperate to keep his evil brother from uniting the four weapons and he heads for the underworld to do battle. This is the setting for the major battles that follow and an ending that begs for a sequel. Young readers will need to be fairly fluent in their reading abilities to tackle this exciting adventure. Each page shows an appropriate action shot of the characters involved. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
