The Golf Swing Simplified [NOOK Book]

Overview

It's the simplification of The Golf Swing that constitutes the chief claim of this vintage little work to a place on the 21st century golfer's bookshelf still. The complexity of the golf swing has arisen largely as the result of the imperfect appreciation of the influence of the wrists in the execution of the movements of the club. Confusion, too, has been introduced by the inaccurate terminology that is usually employed in the description of the "so-called" action of the wrists. The object of this book is to ...

The object of this book is to show that the mechanism of the golf swing depends on "forearm," rather than on "wrist," action. The proof of this proposition is set out in the following pages. Timeless need-to-know instruction for any of today's golfers keen to improve their golf swing and so then thus improving their game.

Recommended - gives good instruction on simplifying the golfing swing

As indicated in the book's description this is a vintage book on the instruction of simplifying the golfing swing. That the book is of another era does not distract from its timeless and good advice on aspects such as that the mechanism of the golfing swing depends on forearm action rather than on wrist action, and explaining all of that in much detail to then put into practice. And also much instruction pertaining to the golfing swing with wooden clubs, iron clubs, on putting, on common faults, and not least a little theory and some practical hints.

The Golf Swing Simplified doesn't live up to its title. Firstly, the writing is stilted and difficult to follow. It's as if the writers are trying to show off.
The concepts are anything but original. Save the time reading this book and watch a golf video or the Golf Channel and you'll absorb more with a lot less effort. There are bookshelves full of golf instruction books; this one you can leave off.
