Overview

Here is the thoroughly comprehensive, absolutely definitive guide to spells--the basic handbook for anyone looking to practice some hands-on magic. Delightfully well written and practical, filled with atmospheric illustrations and diagrams throughout, it encompasses all the principles and philosophy of spell casting, and gives recipes for charms to solve common contemporary problems. This offers what witchcraft and Wicca books don't: an in-depth understanding of what's behind the spells and why they work. It's amazing how much magic is in here: Geomancy, Elemental Scrying, Tree Divination, Mystic Dance and Drumming, Kitchen Witchery, and lots more. From healing, protection, and attraction spells to spells for discernment, repulsion, and concealing, not a topic goes uncovered.

Editorial Reviews

If books are, as Stephen King has said, "uniquely portable magic," this book is doubly spellbinding. Coauthors Dixie Deerman and Steve Rasmussen have vowed to apply the ancient art of spell casting to contemporary needs, and The Goodly Spellbook fulfills that promise. The 400-plus pages offer an impressive compendium of practical magic, covering a host of coven subjects, including geomancy; divination; elemental scrying; charms and chants to help and heal; glyphs and runes; mystic dance and drumming; kitchen witchery; and more.

Highly recommended for beginners and adepts alike. Want to know what Witchcraft is all about? Curious about how it may be different from what you've heard? BUY THIS BOOK. I have given it to friends on several occasions as gifts, and they ALL LOVED it! It is unlike any other book on Witchcraft that has been written, a truly definitive exploration into what being a witch REALLY means.

This book was bought on a whim. The authors did a great job of presenting their ideas clearly. I have tried a few things from the book like the acorn reading it work well. I gives the histpry of Wicca and is a great first book.

One of the best books I have ever read about the craft. Warning this is NOT your typical pagan book this is an in depth training tool for both beginner and those who have practiced for years.
