School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-- Wealthy Amy, 14, has been transplanted to the New Hampshire countryside from Boston by her depressed mother and aloof stepfather. Miserable at the thought of the long, lonely summer, she decides to make friends. She brings together four girls, the Graveyard Gang, named for their meeting place in the cemetery. What follows is a mediocre story. The mystery doesn't start until one-third of the way through. Weighted with Amy's psychological and family problems, an implausible summer job interval, and a budding romance, the book has too much happening and none of it is satisfactorily resolved. --Sharon Grover, Arlington County Department of Libraries, VA
