Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Heidi Hauser Green
With his grandfather headed for a nursing home, Damon and his mother are packing up the old family home. His mother's friend Martha and her son Jaden have come along to help. The boys head to the attic. While Damon packs, Jaden noses around. An intriguing photograph catches his attention, and soon bossy Jaden and reluctant Damon are on the trail of treasure. Their search takes them into the cemetery, late at night. A hidden stairway sends the boys into a belowground crypt—from which only one returns. This title is in a series of fictional case studies presented by "Jason Strange," who investigates paranormal activity in a setting called Ravens Pass. This creepy tale, along with others in the series, introduces young readers to the genre of horror fiction. Reviewer: Heidi Hauser Green
