USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR
Third book in the Death by Chocolate series.

Finally Rick has agreed to sign the divorce papers and give Lindsay her freedom! She is sitting in her lawyer’s office waiting for him when she gets the call.

Rick is dead. Murdered by a bomb that blew up his car in his own driveway.

Lindsay is his sole heir. Or is she? She’s never met any of Rick’s family. Though he told her various conflicting stories about them, she came to believe they didn’t exist, that Rick was an alien stranded here when the mother ship left without him. But then Rick’s mother and two brothers show up followed by a woman who claims to be his ex-wife and a boy she claims is Rick’s son. Everyone except Lindsay wants to inherit Rick’s estate. What’s so valuable that someone killed for it and is ready to kill again?

Meet the Author

Welcome to my world! Come in, pull up a chair, grab a glass of iced tea and let's chat.

I grew up in a small rural town in southeastern Oklahoma where our favorite entertainment on summer evenings was to sit outside under the stars and tell stories. When I went to bed at night, instead of a lullaby, I got a story. That could be due to the fact that everybody in my family has a singing voice like a bullfrog with laryngitis, but they sure could tell stories—ghost stories, funny stories, happy stories, scary stories.

For as long as I can remember I've been a storyteller. Thank goodness for computers so I can write down my stories. It's hard to make listeners sit still for the length of a book! Like my family's tales, my stories are funny, scary, dramatic, romantic, paranormal, magic.

Besides writing, my interests are reading, eating chocolate and riding my Harley.

    Great finish.

Once you start reading her l"Chocolate" books. You'll just eat them up. A very interesting and fast read. I want to see more by this author to see if her humor and fast moving plots can keep up.

    Chocolate Goodness

I have read all three of the chocolate books and they are fun, chocolaty, and fast-paced. So sit back and have a Coke; enjoy! Can't wait for the next installment.

    Enjoyed this book

This wasn't my favorite of all the books, but still love her series. Rick's relatives were annoying, but the "whodunit" part was a surprising twist of why. Still an enjoyable book to read.

I came late to the Death By Chocolate series but all is not lost

I came late to the Death By Chocolate series but all is not lost. As soon as I'm finished with this review I'm getting the first two books in the series (Death by Chocolate and The Chocolate Mousse Attack.  I love Lindsay's (owner of the Death By Chocolate restaurant and bakery) humor, spunk and belief that anything can be fixed with enough chocolate. But this doesn't apply to convincing her husband to sign the divorce papers. He's despicable, pitiful and quite often very funny. Lindsay has a boyfriend (a policeman) in the wings and wants to get on with their relationship. Rick, the not-yet-ex-husband, is always putting off signing the divorce papers. Lindsay wonders if this torment will ever stop, then BOOM, Rick is blown to bits. She can live with that, but just when everything looks clear she is accused of the murder. To complicate matters Rick's,mother, brothers, baby momma and son show up to share in the estate. Their existence is a surprise to Lindsay and also real pains in her butt. Can things get worse? Oh, yeah. Rick shows up alive in her shower - he wasn't in the car when it was blown up after all. And this is where the real fun begins...or, rather, continues.  Sall Berneathy is a great find - don't miss this series. Her humoris fresh and very funny..

Another home run from Sally Berneathy. The Great Chocolate Scam

Another home run from Sally Berneathy. The Great Chocolate Scam is laugh out loud hilarious, has a wonderful storyline, and there's tons of my favorite character, Fred. Berneathy is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her work is not only a treat to read, but a real inspiration. Not to mention that her recipes, included in each book, are truly worth dying for.

I read the first one, then the next then this and am waiting for 4!!!

Really enjoyed her writing style, funnnnny! Very, very enjoyable. After I read the 3 of these I bought another of her books and it was ok, but not as humorous.
