But these are far from the darkest of times. There s no better time to glory in all things Phillies. Come along as the author travels from Grover Cleveland Alexander s 1915 National League champions to Cliff Lee s club of 2009, from the Whiz Kids of 1950 to the Wheeze Kids of 1983, from the errant ninth-inning call that doomed the 77 champs to the errant pitch that doomed the Phillies in 93, from the champs of 80 to the champs of 08. The Greatest Phillies Clubs of All Time has it all. With a hot dog and a beer, it s the perfect reading experience.

    Great fun for Phillies fans.

Clearly and satisfyingly written by a lifelong Phillies fan (and several co-conspirators),this book is a delightful walk through memory lane, reviewing past and newly past Phillies' triumphs. A book to delight in and keep on the shelf for future reference.

I bought this book with the intention of giving it to my grandson as a keepsake about the Phillies. I started paging through it and could not put it down. I am not a sports enthusiast and have never read a single sports book. I started reading it and finished it in 2 days. The personal family stories that writer, Ken Bingham interjects made me feel as though I were a part of his family and that his family was my family. To anyone looking for a great book to learn more about the Philadelphia Phillies or anyone just looking to go home again, I would highly recommend this outstanding book.

I like sports but am not the type of fan to spend my time reading about them. I picked this book up as a gift, read the intro and couldn't put it down. It is smart, witty and fun.
