Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal - School Library Journal
Gr 1-3-- The two Grizzly sisters are curious, high-spirited, and disobedient; their cautious mother's admonitions to avoid beavers, wolves, and the like inspire the pair to make beelines for those very targets, whom they delight in frightening. The tables are turned when the bears approach a tourist site and find themselves chased by humans. The menace in this case comes from cameras rather than guns, but the sisters' experiences are nonetheless sobering; they learn the importance of carefully sniffing the air for danger before trekking through the forest. The text, while amusing at times, is lengthy for the picture-book format, and the story is didactic. Although the siblings are clearly meant to be cubs, they appear full-grown in some of the illustrations. --Anna DeWind, Milwaukee Public Library
