Overview

Flare is a young half elf who has been raised by the elves. Despite having spent his entire life with the elves, he has never really been accepted and lives the life of an outcast.

As his thirtieth birthday approaches, Flare makes a momentous decision. He decides to travel to the Southern city of Telur to join the Guardians. The Guardians are the elite part of the Telurian army, and anyone can join; even foreigners.

The elves are outraged, and Flare is forced to flee the elven forest and travel alone to the human city of Telur, where he joins the Guardians and begins his military training.

Flare is assigned to the western Fort of Mul-Dune, where he continues traveling the path of prophecy. Unknowingly, Flare has began down the path of an ancient and cryptic prophecy. A prophecy that the church of Adel will do anything to keep from being fulfilled. Anything, including murder.

    Really enjoyed this series!

I flew through the first three books of the series. Easy to read but hard to put down. Now I anxiously await the fourth book!

    great book

Personally i LOVED this book..Unlike the other nasty review i read on here..I, in NO way, felt the author was rude or unfair to the Lutheran church or any other church for that matter. I would also like to point out to Mr. Nasty Anonymous Reviewer..HOW DARE YOU say that MY Lord and Savior doesn't answer prayers immediately? How can someone claiming to be a christian believe such a silly statement!? Please tell me then..when I prayed and believed with all my heart that Jesus saved me from my sins did He wait a day, maybe two before he came into my heart? NO! He saved me of my sins right then! That right there is an example of an immediate answered prayer! Jeremiah 33:3 says that if I call on Him, He WILL answer. It does not say that I have to put in a P.O. with Jesus and wait a week or two for it to be approved. If God feels like it He will answer me right then and there! How many times in life have people been in situations, say, their car swerves off the road and they cry "Jesus! Help me!" and you know what? He protects them IMMEDIATELY then and there! That is just one example! HOW DARE YOU limit MY God! His word says that if I believe I WILL receive!
And another thing..I am an avid book reader, and I can't tell you a single book that i have read where I haven't found some grammatical mistake. What i find funny is Mr.Annonymous reader was so busy attacking God and this author that he didn't even realize he himself made a grammatical error! I had to copy and paste it because I found it quite entertaining
"I threw the book in the garbage so one else would get this false information. I knew it was amateurish when I observed grammatical mistakes."
Please, anyone thinking about buying this book, know that the author in no way was offensive to anyone..and Jesus Christ is STILL on his throne and he WILL answer your prayers!

I just purchased the second book The Guardians :Lost in the City and I already LOVE what I have read so far..I like the talking dogs just like I liked the talking animals in the Chronicles of Narnia!

    Faith Inspiring

This book truly touched my life! I literally couldn't put it down! I identified with the characters' struggles and victories in their lives. The author's ability to convey God's love and watchfulness in our everyday lives was inspiring! If you want an enjoyable, down-to-earth, faith-boosting read, this book is for you. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Reelaaax already...uh, we were speaking about the book I believe.
People like you who are in such a frission REALLY make me nervous. Not to be rude, but I don't care AT ALL how you feel about if and when Jesus answers prayers. As I said, we are HERE to review the book---just the book.
Which, by the way, I ebjoyed fairly well but I agree the typos are distracting. It was ok.

    Very good book

Injoyed very much could not put it down after I started. I would say its a good buy of you like this kind of book. There was some miss spelled words and typos. Over all it was good and intertaning(miss spelled). You may or may not like it. It did have some things in it that where not needed but not to much. As I said over all it was good.
