I've been shooting handguns for over 40 years, but learned a LOT from this book as far as defense is concerned. A much easier read than " The Modern Day Gunslinger ". Highly recommend for beginner to veteran shooter.

This book is actually more comprehensive than the title suggests. It really is a book about guns, calibers, stance, etc. I consider myself 'knowledgeable' about guns, and I really learned a lot in reading this book. The author is one of the big gun experts. In part, I had some of my own prejudices confirmed, such as, Glock might not be the best option, as it does not have an external safety [how many police officers have been saved, when a criminal gets their gun and points and pulls the trigger, with no effect, because the safety is on, versus, how many have died when their own Glock is pulled on them, because the Glock has no external safety]. The book also opened my eyes to why the pocket guns are insufficient. There is a good section on ammo. This book is very accessible to the beginning, intermediate, and expert handgunner. I think that everyone will learn something.
