Meet the Author

Michaelyn Cortez: Wife, Mom, Teacher, Author?

Yeah, well I have the question mark there because I am still wondering about that last one. I think of myself as more of a "reader" who just happened to "write something." I guess since I have completed 2 novellas and a collection of short stories I might say I am an author. Hmm?

As for me, as in JUST about me...that's hard to say...I try to embarrass my kids...don't all parents do that? I have been married over 16 years...a lot of people CAN'T say that...I hate cooking...I don't mind folding towels...I hate putting on fitted sheets...I love singing...Bacon and coffee = great smells...I love that you have continued to read this through even though you must have had something better to do! :)

    Sonic High School Chapter 13

*Cream's heart pounded that day she went to school. She was in sicence class and was waiting for Tails, her partner on the science project to come so they can finish. Beening both A+ students Tails and Cream were ahead of all of their classmates by a lot. All they had to do was glue some leaves and they be done. Cream glared at the clock. It was 7:54. Tails had 6 minutes to get to school before it start. She waited afraid that he already knows her secret. Class started and Tails still wasn't here*
Mr.Maybin- Tails? Tails Prower? Cream do you know where Tails is?
    Cream- No sir.*she whispers*
Mr.Maybin- Umm...So Tails is sick today. Oh well. Do you think you can finish the project by yourself Cream?
Cream- Yes sir.*Everyone started working* Where was Tails?*she thought. She looked at Sally. She was busy working with her group on the project. Sally had something to do with Tails beening sick. She just knew it*••••*After school she when home and told her mom*
Vanilla- Well the only way to find out if it's ture is ask.*smiles*
Cream- Yea. I'm going to Tails's place to ask.*she starts to walk out*
Vanilla- And Cream. Don't forget what I sayed!*Cream nodded and ran to Tails's house*••••*Cream got there at about 4. An hour after school was let out. She jumped on his porch and knocked on the door. Tails did answer but he looked awful. He looked as if he hadn't had a goodnight sleep in days.*
    Cream- Tails?
Tails- Hey Cream.*yawns* Sorry. I've didn't sleep well yesterday.
    Cream- Why? Are you sick?
    Tails- No. I don't know. I just....*rubbes his eyes*
    Cream- Your just what?
Tails- It's to hard to explain.
Cream- Tails, I know you like the back of my hand. There is nothing in this world you can't explain. Tell me please.
Tails-*sighs* I don't think I should. *Cream felt like it was her fault that Tails was like this. If she had only asked Tails out he wouldn't be like this.*
    Cream- Tails remember yesterday.
    Tails- Yea.
Cream- I wanted to ask you something.
Tails- Oh yea! Total forgot about that. What did you want to ask me?
Cream- Well umm.....*Cream's throat got dry again*
    Tails- Cream? What is it?
Cream- *she couldn't bring herself to say it* I...I...
Tails- Cream, are you sick again?
    Cream- N...n...no.
    Tails- Then what is it?
Cream- I got to go. My mom needs me.*starts to leave but Tails graps her arm*
Tails- Cream, you been acting werid ever since Amy left and I'm sick of you acting like this! What's wrong?!
Cream- I told you it's nothing.*takes her arm back*
Tails- First you tell me that you want to tell me something. Then you go mute for some reason and leave! That's telling me something is wrong!*Cream didn't say anything instead she looked at the floor. Tails sighs.* Your upset because Amy lefted right?*Cream forced herself to nod*and you think that I'm going to leave to right?*She forced herself to nod again*Cream, I won't leave you but I can't be there for you all the time you know.
Cream- I understand.*she said and started towards the door*Thanks Tails.
Tails- No problem. I'll be at school tomorrow. I promise.
Cream- No. It's fine. You gets some rest and come to school when your well again.*Tails nods and Cream leaves. As she walked home she passed a road and on the other side was Sally and her friends crossing the road talking. Not paying attention to the cars. Cream walked faster not wanting Sally to see her. They were stupid if they keep on walking like that. They will get themself runover.*she thought and walked home*

Great short story. While the bad guy gets it in the end, everyone pays for his mistakes.

Unfortunately, this is the way of the world.

    Ok. Read this.

Not as entertaining as i thought it was going to be. It only has little to do with the gun in the picture. If the author wrote another desent sized book i probly would want to read it.
